This is probably the funniest webcomic I've ever seen. Not necessarily xkcd in its entirety, just this particular one.

I haven't seen The Dark Knight yet. Based on the trailer and the stills alone, however, I'd say probably. That kind of transformation and immersion in a role, and the resulting badassitude -- yeah.

If I see it and change my mind, I promise to call myself out on it, and you can all throw virtual rotten tomatoes. :)

Namely, I'm anxious. I have a rather pervasive illness that causes this, but in social situations it doesn't really matter to people that I cannot help it, even if they know about it and are close to me. They seem to expect that I can just "get over it" at any given moment and in response to anything.

People respect moderate to severe depression at this point, but often not anxiety. My cute way of explaining it is that people have stopped telling me to smile, but they are still blindly telling me to relax. Frequently when they should know better. If I could relax, who in the fuck thinks I wouldn't? I'd give anything to just "relax," whenever. It would enable me to live my life. As it is my life is in stasis.

The other thing is that I can be loud and vulgar and blunt. But I'm good at it, and it usually only bothers people I wouldn't want to spend any time with.

A very happy nearly-belated birthday to rosi86, who coincidentally makes the first Xena icons of quality that I ever saw on LJ. Hope it's a good one, and thanks for all your work that we get to benefit from. :)

Happy birthday to someone who doubtless has many such well-wishers, alisgray. When I met you, I was more afraid of life and of people, and I though you were an affected sort of person. Now that I'm less of a re-re, you're this shining beacon of goodness and fun, and when I think of you, all I want is for you to only have to deal with folks who appreciate that, and have at least some of that in themselves. Also I want to see more of you.
